1: SLOWING DOWN YOUR VIBRATION

When you start to meditate the aim is to bring down your physical vibration (many people have unbalanced chakra centres and so receive conflicting vibrational patterns). If you go into meditation too quickly it can aggravate this imbalance. By slowing down your physical vibration, you begin to relax and let go of stress. You can then go into meditation with an harmonious vibration and reap the benefits of meditation.

To slow down your vibration, sit with your back straight and your weight centrally balanced. Focus on your breathing and start to breathe in and out at a steady rhythm. (how deep depends on you and your lung capacity). The important thing is to breathe CONSCIOUSLY. Once you're happy with this, turn your attention to your base chakra to slow your vibration down even further (which will help the chakra centres to vibrate harmoniously instead of conflicting each other).

2: BRINGING DOWN WHITE LIGHT

Once your vibration has been slowed down and your breathing is slow and even, visualise White Light coming down through your Crown Chakra. Visualise this light flowing through your body into each of your main chakras- crown-third eye-throat-heart-solar plexus-sacral-root chakras. One way of doing this is to visualise each chakra as 'empty' and then fill it up with White Light. Use your awareness to breathe into that chakra and you should feel it getting warm and then hot. When it feels 'hot' you'll know that that chakra has now been filled with white Light and you can move on to the next chakra.

If you've never done this before, take your time to practise this. You may feel, sense or imagine the white Light filling each chakra. It's different for every person.

3: ROOTING (GROUNDING)

I love doing this!!
Imagine a huge, old tree with strong roots that bury deep into the Earth. Now, imagine you ARE that tree and you have roots growing out your feet and rooting you into the Earth. As you do this, also imagine a 'taproot' coming from the base of your spine and sinking deep, deep into the ground. These roots will enable you to 'draw up' energy. As you feel yourself 'rooting' become aware of the response from the planet and the energy. Feel it, taste it.
As this energy works its way up your roots imagine it as a colour flowing through your roots and up into your body. Which colour? leave that to your intuition. Don't discount any colour- it may even be black (no, it's NOT a BAD colour) Everycolour has its own vibration and sound, so whatever colour you intuitively choose is the right vibration for you at that time.
This is a wonderful exercise that links you to Earth and provides not only stability, but also feeds you with healing energy. It is essential to do this 'rooting in' before starting any meditation- it literally keeps you 'rooted'.

 A COLOUR MEDITATION

    1. Go through the basics before starting (slowing down your vibration, bring down light and root yourself in (explained at the top of this page)
    2. 'Pull' the colour you're wanting to work with through your 'roots'- imagine it as a liquid- flowing up into your feet, up your legs.... up, up until it goes through your head and out the crown, almost like a fountain. Then feel the colour flowing down over your skin into the ground, the excess being absorbed by the Earth again.
(Sometimes the colour will get 'stuck' in a certain part, if this happens, leave it there for a while, imagining and feeling it as vividly as you can, until it's absorbed enough and the flow continues).
    3. Make sure you're grounded again before coming out of the meditation. Bring your thoughts back to the present and make sure those roots are rooted!! If you 'come out' out of this too fast, you're probably get VERY dizzy.
